Black screen, flickering, lines across the display, or “no signal” that won’t go away? We diagnose and repair computer monitors — and we tell you straight when a monitor isn’t worth fixing instead of selling you a repair you don’t need.
A monitor that shows nothing is not always a broken monitor. Very often the fault is further up the chain — a failing HDMI or DisplayPort cable, a loose or damaged port, the wrong input selected, or a graphics card that has died inside the computer. We test the whole chain before we touch the panel, because replacing the wrong part is the most expensive mistake in this repair.
When the monitor genuinely is the problem, the failure is usually electrical rather than optical: swollen capacitors on the power board, a failed backlight driver, or a ribbon cable that has worked loose. Those are repairable. We work on monitors from every major brand — Dell, HP, LG, Samsung, Acer, ASUS, ViewSonic, AOC and the rest — at our shop at 816 Franklin St A, Anthony, TX 79821.
The monitor faults we see most often, and what is actually going on inside.
No light, no logo, nothing. Usually a failed power board or swollen capacitors — both repairable.
Shine a flashlight at the screen and you can just make out the image? The panel is fine; the backlight driver isn't.
Vertical or horizontal lines, flicker, or a shaking image. Often a loose ribbon connection or a failing driver board.
We test the cable, both ports and the graphics card before blaming the monitor — it is frequently not the screen.
Cracked or pushed-in HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, DVI and VGA connectors re-seated or replaced.
Wobbling stands, snapped hinges and stripped VESA mounts — the cheap failures that make a good monitor unusable.
Being straight about the limits saves you a trip and saves us both time.
We repair computer monitors, not TVs. If you have a television fault, we would rather tell you now than waste your trip.
A replacement LCD panel almost always costs more than a comparable used monitor. We will show you the numbers and let you decide rather than quietly quoting the repair.
Individual dead pixels are a manufacturing defect in the panel itself. No shop can repair them — anyone who says otherwise is guessing.
The diagnostic is $99.95. It is paid up front, it is non-refundable, and it is credited toward the repair if you decide to go ahead.
