PC Cleaning & Tune-Up in El Paso, TX

Computer running hot, loud, or slower every month? In this climate most machines are full of dust long before they’re actually broken. A proper clean is the cheapest thing you can do for a computer — and it often makes the repair you were bracing for unnecessary.

Dust Is the Most Underrated Fault

El Paso and the Mesilla Valley are dry and dusty, and computers here fill up faster than they do almost anywhere else. Dust packs into the heatsink fins where you can’t see it, the fans spin harder to push air that can’t get through, and the machine gets louder. Eventually the processor starts throttling itself to avoid overheating, and everything feels slow.

People usually read that as “this computer is dying” and start shopping. Often it isn’t. A real clean means opening the machine, clearing the heatsink and fans properly rather than blasting a can of compressed air at the vents, and replacing the thermal paste that has dried out underneath the cooler. Blowing air at the outside mostly just moves dust deeper in.

What a Clean Actually Includes

Physical and software — the two halves of why a machine feels slow.

🧹

Full Internal Dust Removal

Opened up and cleaned properly: heatsink fins, fans, filters and power supply — not a puff of air through the vents.

🌡️

Fresh Thermal Paste

The paste between the processor and its cooler dries out over years. Replacing it is often the single biggest temperature drop.

💨

Fan Check & Replacement

Fans that rattle, whine or have stopped spinning entirely. Cheap to replace and the usual reason a machine gets loud.

🚀

Software Clean-Up

Startup programs, junk files and the software that quietly loads itself every boot. Half of “slow” is software, not hardware.

🛡️

Malware Check

Something using your processor in the background feels exactly like a slow computer. We check while we’re in there.

🕹️

Consoles Too

PS5, Xbox and Switch get the same treatment — see our console repair page for the detail on those.

When Cleaning Isn’t the Answer

Being straight about the limits saves you a trip and saves us both time.

A failing drive won’t be fixed by a clean

If the machine hangs, freezes or makes clicking noises, that’s a drive problem and cleaning won’t touch it. We’ll say so rather than take the money.

Don’t use a vacuum on your computer

Household vacuums generate static that can kill components outright. If you want to do something at home, use short bursts of proper compressed air from outside the case — and don’t let the fans spin freely while you do.

Very old machines have a ceiling

A clean makes a slow machine run at its best, not faster than it ever was. On a genuinely old computer we’ll tell you what a refurbished one would cost instead.

What It Costs

Cleaning is quoted up front, before we start. The price depends on the machine and whether it needs a physical clean, a software tune-up, or both — so call 915-886-7098, tell us what it’s doing, and we’ll give you the number over the phone.

If we find something a clean won’t fix — a failing drive, dying memory — we tell you that instead of cleaning it anyway and taking your money.

No fix = no repair charge. If we can’t improve it, you don’t pay for a repair.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the machine and whether it needs just a clean or a clean plus a software tune-up. Call 915-886-7098, tell us what it’s doing, and we’ll give you the price up front — you approve it before anything starts. No fix = no repair charge still applies if we can’t improve it.
In this climate, about once a year for a desktop and every year or two for a laptop. If it sits on carpet, near a window, or you have pets, sooner.
If it’s been throttling because of heat, noticeably yes. If it’s slow because of a failing drive or too little memory, no — and we’ll tell you which one you have rather than selling you a clean that won’t help.
You can, and it’s better than nothing, but blowing air at the vents mostly relocates dust further inside. The dust that matters is packed into the heatsink fins, and getting it out means opening the machine. Never use a household vacuum — the static can destroy components.
Yes — PlayStation 5 and PS4, Xbox Series and One, and Nintendo Switch. A loud, hot console that shuts off mid-game is usually a dust and thermal paste problem, not a dying console.
It shortens the machine’s life more than it endangers you. Sustained heat degrades components over time, so it’s worth dealing with before it becomes a repair.
